Alltrade Tools, LLC has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in certain E-bike racks sold at Costco, Costco.com, and Costco.ca. Therefore, a recall has been issued for the Kilimanjaro E-Bike Rack Hitch Mounted Platform Carrier, Costco item numbers 2705169, 1666595, and 1705169, model numbers 910572CWT, 910572ECT, 910495CUE, and 910495CCF, which were sold between March 2023 and September 2024.

ISSUE:
Alltrade is recalling these E-Bike Racks as they may fail at the Hitch Post, Vertical Support, or Carrying Platforms, presenting risk of injury. Additionally, the E-Bike Rack failure can allow a bicycle to detach and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Stress at critical connection points within the E-Bike Rack may cause cracks to form. These cracks may worsen due to cyclic fatigue, where repeated loading and unloading progressively weaken the material. Over time, this weakening may lead to structural failures, compromising the integrity of the rack and increasing the risk of detachment during transport.
ACTION:
